Jeff: Gnome System Tools is a bit buggy when it comes to dial-up. FWIW, I hope to have that fixed before 2.10 (see this Ubuntu bug), since I use it. And while I agree it would be great to have g-s-t use pppconfig settings, it would be very hard to develop such backend for each different distribution and system.

I hope to find some more time to spend on hacking and translating these days. It was never really a problem of not having enough time, but rather, of being quite disorganized (I got up at different times, gone to bed at different times, just did nothing for too long, etc).

But, this should all change now. I have a few things which I'll prioritise: writing an article for GNUzilla about Python RAD development for Gnome, completing Gnome 2.10 Serbian translations, cleaning my music manager application for Philips HDD100, and re-doing the Prevod.org pages.

In the meantime, I've switched my sister's computer to Ubuntu as well (and it experiences the same inotify bug as mine does, when upgraded to Hoary). Ubuntu is now the distroa franca of desktops around my house (my dad also installed it, though didn't play too much with it).

I also discovered that Epiphany was not to blame for Orkut not working (I kept getting messages from Orkut, but whenever I tried to visit it, it gave not only the server "no donut", but "no donut" for me either :). It is just about lousy programming where if you have your Accept-Language set to "sr-CS" or "sr-YU" (Epiphany adds it by default), Orkut borks out. And it's been this way for several months—I discovered only when I wanted to take a look at Serbian Firefox translation, which adds "sr-YU" to Accept-Language field as well.

We lost power. If anyone spots it, please send it back. We need it. Desperately. Thank you to all the honest finders.

Spooky: reminding me of 1999 (except for no bombs falling)

Officials claimed that we have enough "electricity supplies" for the winter. Winter came very late (we had 15°C in mid-January!), but as soon as it dropped down to -10°C for around a week, power is off: this is most likely a problem with power lines or stations somewhere, but you still don't want that to happen at night with temperatures approaching -15°C, and only a minority of Belgrade population being connected to central heating system or gas network.

A bit less than an hour later, the power is back. Lets hope it will stay on for the rest of the year. :)
